Imagine if you could reprogram your mind, behavior and personality like a computer. That's what the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming is all about, and "Frogs into Princes" is required reading for anyone who wishes to become a master of NLP.
Despite the name, "Frogs into Princes" is actually written primarily for psychotherapists. It can be read by laymen, but that's not the focus audience. The book is really a transcription of one of the early NLP seminars. At this seminar, the two founders of NLP spoke to a group of therapists and psychologists. The speeches were recorded and preserved in "Frogs into Princes".
The book covers all the fundamentals of NLP: frames and reframing, modalities and submodalities, presuppositions, the meta-model. It's particular useful in that it provides concrete examples of the application of the almighty "Six Step Reframe". A psychological technique for making lasting changes in literally minutes. I used it to remove a fingernail-biting habit which I had since childhood. It took under twenty minutes to annihilate the habit and it's scary how effective it worked.
"Frogs into Princes" is the type of book which requires an open mind, because for those who have never encountered NLP before, it may be difficult to have one's world model so radically kicked around. I had the benefit going in of having studied similar phenomena for several years beforehand, and some of the revelations from NLP were still quite radical.
