Theres a phenomenon when people listen to music. When a good song, or good part, comes along. Some people'll turn the volume up slightly. This lets you enjoy the good part a bit more. The mistake is that you leave it like that afterward. And your ears adjust. So if you're listening a long time eventually the music can get quite loud and since your ears are adjusting gradually you don't enjoy the loudness.
To make your music listening more PLEASURABLE. Take advantage of not-so-good stretches of music, to turn the volume DOWN. Then your ears are accustomed to the lower volume. And when a good part comes along you can really crank it up. Bang.. you're in HEAVEN. People who are skilled at volume optimization, can achieve ORGASM just by listening to music. It's a skill cultivated by eunuchs who couldn't achieve orgasm by any other means.
Incidentally. Some tv stations will automatically turn up the volume on commercials. To make the commercials more effective. So tv commercials are an ideal thing to turn the volume way down on. One day you'll wake up and notice you can melt steel with your godlike vocal cords.
